How This Works

This calculator implements three components from Hayden's Chapter 6 framework:

  1. Fibonacci Retracement Levels (Table #8): Calculates all 13 levels from 5.5% to 94.4%.
  2. Trend Strength Classification (Table #9): Maps the current retracement depth to one of seven tiers from Very Strong to Very Weak.
  3. Valid Move Measurement: If you provide the 10-day average daily range, the calculator checks whether the swing qualifies as a valid move under the 13× rule.

Worked Example

Input: Swing High = 4500, Swing Low = 4400, Current Price = 4461.40

  • Total swing = 100 points
  • Current retracement = 38.6% (just past 38.2%)
  • Trend Strength = Strong
  • Upside target = 4500 + (4500 - 4400) = 4600 (A→B added to C)
  • Stop placement = Below 50% level = 4450
